Badiyal Qazian Village Profile

History

Badiyal Qazian is a historic village in the Ranbir Singh Pora (R.S. Pura) Tehsil of Jammu district, Jammu and Kashmir. According tolocal accounts, the village derives its name from the Qazi families (Muslim legal scholars) who lived in the area before the Partition of India in 1947. Many of these families migrated across the border during Partition.

Today, Badiyal Qazian is an important village in the Suchetgarh region, with a populationof over 2,500 people. The village is home to the historic Dargah of Peer Baba, a revered religious sitethat hosts community gatherings and traditionalevents. It also has essentialpublicinfrastructure, including a Government High School.

Martyr Pawan Singh

The village proudly remembers Martyr Pawan Singh, who served in the Indian Army for four years and made the supreme sacrifice for the nation duringcounter-terrorism operations in Baramulla in 2001.
