Description

Location & Demographics
Snarhian is a small rural village about 5 km from Reasi town (Jammu region). Based on recent local surveys, it has a population of roughly 1,100, and approximately 25–35% of the youth move to Jammu or other states in search of education or jobs.

Geography & Scenery
The village is surrounded by green hills, farmland, and open scenic views. In summer, the climate remains cooler than Jammu, and in winter, it offers the possibility of views of snow-covered mountains.

Occupations & Lifestyle
Most residents engage in agriculture, and some do daily wage or small local work. Several youths travel outside for employment or studies. The community is close-knit, and locals are known to be friendly and helpful to visitors.

Infrastructure
Snarhian has no schools, healthcare facilities, or guesthouses, so people usually travel to nearby villages for their basic needs. Small dhabas in or near the village offer simple local food. Accommodation can be found in neighboring villages just a couple of kilometers away.

Cultural and Historical Context
While Snarhian itself may not have historical monuments, it is situated in the Reasi district, which possesses a rich heritage. The area includes Bhimgarh Fort (or Reasi Fort), a historical site on a hill near Reasi town dating back centuries and linked to Dogra-era rulers and local history.
