Dalsar is a village located in Ramnagar tehsil of Udhampur district in Jammu & Kashmir , India. It is situated 3km away from sub-district headquarter Ramngar (tehsildar office) and 42km away from district headquarter Udhampur. As per 2009 stats, Dalsar village is also a gram panchayat.

Historically, it has been a place of local importance, with legends linking the lake to ancient beliefs and traditions. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE : According to local lore, the Bandralta kings of the Ramnagar kingdom developed Dalsar Lake. Later, Dogra ruler Raja Ram Singh took a keen interest in its beautification and constructed ghats for bathing.

SHRINKING SITE : The lake was once much larger but has shrunk over centuries due to human activities.

MIRACULOUS SHIVLINGA : A miraculous Shivalinga is housed in the temple near the lake. Devotees believe the lingam changes color daily and shows signs of a nose, mouth, ears, and matted hair.

RELIGIOUS SANCTITY : The presence of the Shiva temple maintains the lake's sanctity despite its diminished size
